Bring your own carrier accounts
You can minimize costs by using your company's carrier accounts for FedEx, UPS, and USPS. Your ReReady returns will be billed directly to your carrier accounts. Available in Custom plan only.
Why bring your own carrier accounts?
By using your own carrier accounts, you can minimize your cost per order.
Ordinarily ReReady charges a flat rate per device transfer. Obviously we must charge enough to cover shipping between a wide variety of addresses, meaning there is usually a gap between our flat rate and the actual cost.
If you provide your own carrier account, you eliminate that gap by always paying the actual cost. That brings your cost down to only the ReReady service fee, which is highly competitive.
What carrier accounts can be added?
You can add any of these carriers:
- FedEx
- UPS
- USPS
If necessary, you can add multiple of each type. For example, if you have separate accounts for FedEx in Canada, US, and Mexico, you can add all 3 accounts.
How does ReReady choose which carrier account to use?
When ReReady purchases a shipping label on your behalf, we check the shipping price under each of your carrier accounts. We will always purchase the most cost-effective option.
Are there any potential downsides?
Yes, there are some potential downsides if you bring your own carrier accounts:
- If you bring your own carrier account(s), we will always use yours, even if our discount would have been greater. That's because we don't mix quotes - either we use your accounts or ours.
- If there is a problem with a shipment, our ability to intervene on your behalf is limited. We can still contact carrier support for you, but we are generally less likely to succeed in resolving the problem unless you have formally authorized us on your carrier account.
